Pitched Roof House
2016 - 2018
Status | Completed
The Pitched Roof House is a two storey addition to a 19th century cottage in Sydney’s inner city. Occupying a narrow site, the key challenge for this project was to get natural light as deep into the house as possible. To achieve this, the new rooms have been arranged around two double height cuts that bring light in from the east and a north-facing dormer window. To emphasise these cuts and increase the light coming down to the ground floor kitchen and dining spaces, glass has been used in the floor of the first storey landings.
