This apartment renovation is an exercise in the varied use of a single material. The existing Spotted Gum floor was refurbished and a series of small interventions were made to maximise the use of space including a new kitchen constructed of Spotted Gum plywood, study nook and the enclosure of an additional bedroom. With some carefully considered lighting, this project transformed the atmosphere and function of the apartment with the minimum number of moves.
